Science by the Bay

Science by the Bay

Thu 26 - Sun 29 March
From 9am

Moreton Bay is a vital hub for biodiversity and fisheries, supporting rich marine and coastal life while also shaping the culture, livelihoods and everyday experiences of local people and visitors to the region. Scientific research has been central to understanding and protecting this important coastal ecosystem.

Science by the Bay highlights examples of scientific discovery and research from across Moreton Bay. Under one roof, participants can explore interactive displays showcasing research on marine turtles, shorebirds, invertebrates, shellfish reefs and wetland habitats. Visitors can peer into hidden worlds using microscopes, discover how water quality is monitored, and learn how researchers and citizen scientists collect and use data to care for the Bay.

The Moreton Bay Foundation’s new Moreton Bay Passport app will guide participants toward activities and learning challenges, inviting them to explore, take part and continue their connection with Moreton Bay during the exhibition and beyond.
